Review: Too Faced 'Christmas in New York' Chocolate Shop - Gift Set
Being a huge fan of Too Faced and the already proud owner of the divine Chocolate Bar palette, I was beyond excited to receive the Christmas In New York - The Chocolate Shop box.
I went in firstly with the primer, it’s slightly pigmented, blends in easily and is really soft. As I am just doing my make-up for an average day, I did not want to go in with the whiter bases, so I used Banana Date, closer to my skin tone and really subtle; it is so easy to blend, and perfect for a base. The colour that instantly drew me in was the Butterscotch powder, I love copper eyeshadow and this colour is sublime! I used it on the outer corners of my eye, using my brush to sweep it into my crease as well.
I then used my next fave colour Honey Dip, which is a really lovely gold colour which is so shiny and pigmented, I used this on the middle of my lid to give that shine. For the inner corner I used Gingerdoodle, which is a paler gold colour, so I have the transition from dark outer to light inner of the lid. They are all so blendable, and they combine beautifully. I used the same colours on my bottom lid, this look is subtle but shimmery and really pretty. No look is complete with mascara, and I have been desperate to try the Better Than Sex mascara, as I have heard such fab things about it, firstly I have to say I love the shape of the brush, and it instantly thickened up my lashes and seems to do the trick but I always think you need to use it a few times for the best results, but if the first use is anything to go by, then it’s going to be a new fave.
I then applied the Inner Light highlighter to the inner corner of my eye, my brow bone, cheekbones and cupids bow. Along with the Chocolate Soleil bronzer in all the usual places and blush. It is all really pigmented, so the palette will last a long time and its really fab quality. To finish off my make-up I used the Melted Chocolate lipstick, I have to admit that at first I wasn’t sure if the colour would be for me as I am so picky about lip colours, but it’s a really lovely light brown (with a hint of pink), you can’t really go wrong with this colour, it suits all skin tones and goes on really nicely. AND it smells of chocolate! Actual chocolate… amazing.
I cannot recommend this box of Too Faced make-up enough. I loved Too Faced before and now I am even more obsessed. It’s a fab present for someone else or for yourself, anyone who loves make-up will adore this box.
